In 2012 I wrote a piece for symphony orchestra and sound track. It’s a three-part dodecaphonic (twelve-tone) miniature in which I explore the notion of “death”.

While the person asking the questions tries to encourage the listener to conduct self-inquiry (based on Byron Katie’s The Work), we hear voices expressing all kinds of reactions and proclaiming common, so-called realistic opinions. In the third segment we hear a derived version of the heart sutra (Form is emptiness. Emptiness is form. No past … etc.) and when the last notes are heard, a quote from Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh concludes the piece.
